"My pet is too hyper, he won't sit still", "My dog isn't trained", "My dog is very anxious & needs time to adjust to new people", "My dog prefers men over women because he likes beards", hehehe you name it, I have literally heard it all! This time around, when I got a call for a maternity shoot, I was "warned" by the parents, "Ziggy is very hyper even after all his training".
In my head, I was like 'pft, no big deal!' And then, I met Ziggy...
Hahaha, I'm sure I'm making it sound worse than it was, he was actually a sweetheart! Just like any other puppy, he wanted the attention of the 'newcomer' in the house. He wanted to play & show off his toys & tricks instead of pose for us. So, we did things his way!
I've realized over the years that if you play into what the dogs want you to do, they are way more receptive to your commands after! A little play goes a long way!
So, I grabbed a toy & had some play time with Ziggy. He then got a little hungry afterwards & so, food time followed. After a bit of a break, Ziggy was finally ready to let us shoot with him! One after the other, Ziggy knocked it out of the park with his posing & attention to commands!
I remember that Anirudh (Ziggy's Hooman dad) was quite skeptical about the photos turning out nice, but he was so ecstatic when I finally sent the photos to him!
Check them out for yourself!
Prathima was efficient and professional. We had engaged her services for a puppy cum maternity shoot. She was good with Ziggy. She managed to handle a six month old, excitable Golden Retriever very well. We ended up with fantastic photographs of our puppy and my wife’s baby bump. The photographs were well edited and delivered to us in a timely manner. We wish her all the best.
